The Puzzle Pieces of Us

The Puzzle Pieces:

Recently I have realised that I have been neglecting parts of myself for a long time and run myself down. My mind likens us to a puzzle, for us, as humans, to be complete, all the pieces of the puzzle need to fit together. We have many different facets that make us human, our social, emotional, physical, mental and spiritual being all come into play to make us whole and who we are. If we neglect a part of us, we cannot be complete. Part of our journey in life is to complete our own individual puzzle. No one else can do this for us.

Over the next few weeks, I will be exploring each different facet, one at a time. Each Friday I will put up a post about one of our puzzle pieces. These will be individual posts about either our social, emotional, physical, spiritual or mental well-being. It would be lovely to hear everyone’s different perspectives on this. I posted some questions on my personal and public Facebook pages but I would love the perspectives of a wider audience. Especially from cultures other than my own, how other cultures view these facets is something that interests me personally.

Questions for Thought:

Social, emotional, physical, mental and spiritual being, what do these mean to you?

How do you take care of each part of you?

What do these different things look like to you personally?

What happens when you don’t look after a certain aspect of yourself?

Comments:

Feel free to answer the questions above in the comments or send me an email using the contact form if you wish to remain private. I welcome all comments and believe no one is wrong in their beliefs. Other people’s perspectives genuinely interest me and there is no better way to learn about ourselves and other people than listening and questioning.

  1. one needs to take care of their thoughts when they are alone, emotions need to be tended well and words need to be watched while speaking with others. Look forward to your posts.

  • Friday Feels:

I asked: My heart is so small, it's almost invisible. How can you place such big sorrows in it?
"Look," He answered, "your eyes are even smaller, yet they behold the world." Rumi - Persian poet
