Ronna from fivefootronna is one of my all-time favourite people. Both online and off. I'm forever bigging up this gal to anyone who will listen to me (though not many people do anymore). Ronna is intelligent, inspirational, funny and genuine. We met several years ago at a mutual friend's lingerie party. I think she felt sorry for me because I knew no one so she took me under her wing and we have been friends ever since. We both have had ups and downs but made it out the other side. Me slightly greyer and her slightly wiser.

Read on to find out more about the gal who is always lookin' up. Mostly 'coz she has to. Even I am taller than her.

Why do you love to travel?

Apart from the awesome sightseeing, culture and overdosing on my love of photography - the food of course!

Who/what inspires you?

Too many to list! Of course, my parents, because they’re pretty cool human beings. My dog, because she already knows how incredible living in the moment is, and I’m learning a lot from her.

What have you learned about yourself through travel?

I have a friend called John Morin, who writes through his blog, www.thewanderlustpilgrim.com He wrote that travel doesn’t change you, because if you chose to travel to ‘runaway’ from your problems, guess what, you packed them along for the ride whether you realised it or not. Travel can enhance the way we see how incredibly precious life is, but it doesn’t fix your problems.

Where was the best place you've been to? Why?

Vietnam - because of the food and it’s fascinating culture. Plus you can get a lot of high quality, tailored clothing and shoes at awesome prices.

Do you have a funny travel story?

My first big solo adventure was a tour around South East Asia, the first country being Thailand. I was on a tour, and our guide told us that across the road from our hotel are two places to get a massage - to the right was just massage, and the other gave happy endings. I had woken up from my siesta and felt like a massage, dozy, I crossed the road and the “only massage” place was closed for lunch. A ‘madame’ from the other place came out and asked if I wanted a massage - I should have waited. The woman that gave me a massage had long, red nails and what you could describe as a naughty nurse’s outfit you wear at Halloween. Even in her broken English, I was pretty sure she asked if I wanted a ‘special’ massage. I just politely said no thanks.
